WHO WE ARE?  

Potravinová banka Central z.s. was established in 2018, making it the youngest bank operating in the Czech Republic.

Its operations are located in the Central Bohemian Region, specifically in the districts of Beroun, Příbram, Benešov, Kolín and Kutná Hora, and it also serves the southern, eastern and western parts of the districts of Prague East and Prague West.

WHAT WE DO?

We collect food that would otherwise be disposed of and distribute it through partner purchasing organizations to those in need. This is primarily food that is safe for health but no longer saleable.

OUR MISSION

To support charities and non-profit organizations in the fight against hunger and malnutrition through the distribution of food donations and surpluses. To support the fight against food waste and sustainable development in the field of food management through community cooperation and solidarity.

FOOD DELIVERY

We collect food daily from more than 70 stores in the bank's territory. We also collect food from logistics centers. We collect food to a warehouse in Prague - Dubeč.

CHECKING AND SORTING

We regularly manually check, sort and distribute food to purchasing organizations after collection.

DISTRIBUTION

Direct collections for purchasing organizations take place every day at an agreed time. Through these organizations, food reaches the hungry (retirees, parents with children, individuals in need).

We transported more than 1.780 tons of food and then distributed it to customer organizations.

More than 19 tousand people received food aid thanks to us.
